We absolutely loved our stay at Hooton Retreat 🌳 It’s such a peaceful place surrounded by nature. They have quite a number of room options, we chose the more budget-friendly ones and honestly, they were perfectly fine for us. Clean, comfortable, and cosy. The only thing to note is that the bathrooms for our room type are detached. So if you prefer an attached private bathroom, they do have those options too. We didn’t mind at all, if anything, it added to the “back to basics” feel. The staff were incredibly warm and kind, which made the whole experience even nicer. You can really feel the hospitality. Dinner was banana leaf and we loved it 🤍 Simple, hearty & comforting food. They also offer plenty of activities like trekking and archery, so it’s great if you want something more active. But we came here t relax so we spent time literally just reading, journaling and talking to each other and soaking in all the greenery. Exactly the kind of rest we needed. We will come back!

We booked a 3d2n stay at Bubo Cote 5. These is a double decker bed at ground level and 3 beds on the upper level. We found it difficult to climb up the vertical steps. We called Ross and he immediately sent his team to bring bring down the mattress and rearrange them on the ground level. Thank you for the excellent service. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. However we found the blankets too thin. It was very cold even with the aircon temperature at 24C. Sound proofing of the room is good too. There is a duku tree outside our room. The staff harvested a big bag for us to eat and another bag to take home. Thank you. All the staff we met were kind and helpful. Thank you Ross and your team for the 5⭐️ service and making our stay enjoyable and memorable.

I had the pleasure of spending a night at The Hooton with my friends. Ros and team were amazing! They were very helpful and hospitable. We had the opportunity to do durian hunting, had some durian and was served really delicious fresh meals. The rooms were comfortable, toilet was clean and comfortable to be used, campfire site was super nice. They offer many kinds of activities too. I would definitely come back with my friends and family.
