Had a wonderful stay at Philea Resort & Spa. The resort has a peaceful, nature-inspired atmosphere that’s perfect for a short getaway or staycation. The architecture is unique, surrounded by greenery, and it really gives off a calm, relaxing vibe. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a beautiful view that made waking up feel refreshing. Staff were friendly, polite, and always helpful whenever we needed assistance. The facilities were well maintained, especially the pool area, which was great for relaxing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Philea resort. First of all, the location was superb. We feel like in the middle of nature, and it was very cooling and refreshing. The pool was amazing as we swam in the middle of trees and a waterfall. Food was excellent as well. The main restaurant had a good selection of Malaysian food (Char Kway Teow, Prawn Mee, Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Sambal Prawn) and Western Food (chicken chop, fish and chips), all of which was delicious. Another smaller restaurant by the pool served great vegetarian dishes that were healthy yet tasty. The spa offered unique Japanese hot stone therapy, which was meant as a refreshing detox treatment. Service was great as well, with the staff responding quickly to our requests and needs. Overall, a great stay and value!

Extremely poor experience. Nowhere near the 5 star standard advertised. Do not book. This is my first time ever writing a review, and the experience was bad enough that I felt obligated to warn others. From the moment we checked in, it was clear the property is not maintained to an acceptable standard. The first room was noisy — we could clearly hear kids from the next-door room. This is not a couple’s retreat or peaceful getaway by any definition. The room phone was not working, forcing us to walk all the way back to the lobby just to report the issue. After requesting a room change, the buggy driver dropped us far away from the new room, which was extremely inconvenient. The replacement room was clearly not properly cleaned or prepared. There were ants crawling around the bathtub. The room had a strong body odor smell combined with a musty smell. Overall, the property shows very poor upkeep and maintenance. There was also essentially no usable internet. The WiFi signal was so weak it was close to non-existent. To make things worse, many facilities were closed or unavailable, which was not disclosed and does not match the "5 star" price we paid This stay was far below expectations and not worth the price. I would strongly advise anyone considering this property to book elsewhere.
