This camp has a nice riverside area, but I would not recommend staying here due to the very rude and inhospitable campsite management. This place requires you to book your campsites and prepay in full before even getting there. The river area is quite nice, but the toilets and other structures are rather ramshackle with spray painted graffiti style signs and don't seem to be well maintained. On arriving, our group found that the No 6 site we booked had ant nests in the middle of it. Now it is normal to encounter ants and insects while camping, but anyone with common sense will know setting up camp on top of an active ant nest is a whole different thing. The most simple solution was to simply switch to a different site. As we knew the camp was underbooked that weekend and there were several other unoccupied ones next to it, it seemed to be a small matter. However when we mentioned the ant issue and asked to switch, the campsite staff seemed uneasy at the request and instead started scattering some sort of white powder insecticide all over the campsite. Even more worrying, they could not tell us what kind of insecticide it was, just that it would kill the ants and other insects. At this point no one was comfortable camping on the insecticide covered site, so we again asked if it was possible to switch sites. We even offered to help with the setup of the giant tarp they put up over each site. If they had asked us to pay a fee for the inconvenience of switching sites we would not have minded either. Enter the campsite manager (unsure if this is the owner, but he sure acted like it). When he heard we had asked to switch sites because of the ant problem he flew into a rage and started screaming at the first campsite staff for doing work for free and scolded him for not collecting RM 50 deposit for changing sites first. Then he started calling us, his paying guests to come over to him and kept mockingly pointing out other ants nearby and condescendingly berated us for several minutes about how once we started cooking the ants would be swarming all over anyway. Lastly, he scoffed and said no one had died from camping at his campsite before and if we didn't like it we could get out and leave. Honestly his reaction was so unhinged and over-the-top hostile that we opted to forfeit the campsite fees we paid and left. Fortunately there were plenty of other camping places in the nearby area that had better facilities and much friendlier atmosphere and hosts, and we ended up having a great time camping at one of them. To anyone reading this and considering if they should camp at Kenaboi Adventure Camp, kindly note you will need to pay in advance, which normally comes with the understanding that the host will try to be hospitable, but that is not the case here. The person running this campsite seems to have an arrogant take-it-or-leave-it attitude which means if you have any problems you will have very little recourse since you've already paid in full. Check the other reviews and consider carefully if you want to risk it.

A rude and aggressive member of staff clearly did not want us staying. We obliged and found another campsite. A pity, it looked like a nice campsite, they had durians too.

Everything was great. It's a nice place with surau, toilets, and a campsite with flysheets. We could just park, set up our tent, and relax. I went there on a university trip, and each guide played their role well in leading us through the forest and caves. However, one guide unnecessarily scolded my friend and didn't apologize. Instead, the leader apologized on his behalf, which dampened the experience a bit. I don't think the guide had the right to scold us as we were customers. Nonetheless, shout-out to the entire Kenaboi team! I had a fantastic time overall!
