I recommend that anyone considering enrollment fully understand the overall course structure, participation requirements, and any follow-up arrangements, including the time and effort that may be required.

I signed up for the Advance Living Series – Discovery Training, and here is what I experienced: On the first day of class, when I walked into the classroom, several assistants were giving instructions, asking us to place our personal belongings on the rack and turn off our cell phones. While I was putting my things away, I turned around and asked a lady behind me if I could bring my water bottle to my seat. Instead of answering my question, she simply repeated the same instruction: “Put the personal belongings on the rack and turn off the cell phone.” During the class, I didn’t just listen blindly. I was thinking through what they said. As a result, I found myself disagreeing with most of their points. In the middle of the first session, before the break, an elderly man sitting in the row in front of me raised his hand and asked if he could move to the back because he was feeling cold, the air conditioner was blowing directly on him. They kind of ignoring him by just replied, “I don’t know.” I felt extremely uncomfortable after that. I couldn’t listen anything they said for the next few minutes. All I could hear was my heartbeat. I thought about offering to switch seats with the elderly man, but given the strange atmosphere I had felt so far, I decided not to. In the end, I left the class during the first break. I quit after three hours on my first day. My final thought is, human beings’ minds are far more complex than some might describe. You are not what others say you are—especially those who have never met you in their lives.
