Was in the same class when Yasmin was there for her first class with Havana EStudio. Of course, as a follower, offering to do the lead for Lvl 3 is always welcome but when the instructors are in the midst of teaching the class then that’s interrupting & distracting. Have been with HE for past 1 year after the Covid & this time am taking dancing more seriously as HE offers me more opportunity to do more classes each week under the same studio with Salsa, Bachata, Rueda, the Salsa Shines & Bachata Ladies Styling, Spin & Body Movement classes where I improved my footwork & techniques tremendously. Always shy away from going on stage but Havana EStudio has given me the chance to overcome my stage fright to do performances. These photos on our performance on Mar 22, captures my positive dance experiences with all the fun, energetic dance mates & the instructors dedication for the student to improve by having monthly studio party . Sam & Aisha are the most passionate & dedicated instructors and am having fun learning experience here at Havana EStudio.

Remembering and Expressing Gratitude for My Dancing Journey with Havana Estudio I'm taking a moment to look back and express my thanks for the start of my dance journey in KL ! I've been recently reflecting back on when i resumed my dance journey in KL (after returning back home from east Malaysia) in December 2021 when I first stepped into Havana Estudio for beginner Salsa On1 classes with Aisha. I continued progress with both Salsa and Bachata under both Sam & Aisha from mid-2022 until end of 2023. The experience under these instructors did give me the foundation and perseverence i needed to start attending socials, boost my confidence in performing and ability to adapt well when learning different dance styles from other instructors. Thank you, Aisha, Sam Sopiee, and the whole Havana Estudio team, for planting that seed of a dancer in me ! Wish you success. ~Nathan

I really wanted to like the class I attended. Unfortunately the teacher/Artistic Director Sam Sopiee's demeanour was very rude and condescending. He commented (twice!) that he was “teaching me really basic stuff,” which was unnecessarily dismissive and condescending, especially as a complete beginner to the dance style. He also snapped at me when I asked if he could demonstrate something by dancing with me, as I hadn't understood it yet and it was very unclear to me. I want to emphasise that I was/am a complete beginner to this dance style and had no familiarity with its core principles or social conventions. After class, I reached out via WhatsApp to offer feedback about my experience. Sam offered no apology or acknowledgement of his behaviour and blocked me. A very disappointing and unprofessional response. I hope the studio takes this as an opportunity to reflect on how newcomers are treated. A welcoming environment makes all the difference for beginners.
