Had a wonderful stay at Baba House Melaka. The hotel has a beautiful Peranakan-style design that gives a very unique and cultural vibe. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The location is excellent—just a short walk to Jonker Street, making it very convenient to explore Melaka. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay especially Mr. Leong, he was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a great place for a relaxing staycation in Melaka. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our two-night stay here. The reception and parking staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a mix of modern and antique architecture. The room and bathroom were clean, though ventilation in the bathroom could be improved as it can get warm after a shower. Towels and amenities were sufficient, breakfast was decent, and Wi-Fi worked well. Despite its central location, parking is well arranged and convenient for guests who drive. A great place to experience Baba culture in Melaka

Mixed experience. My first room was right next to the lift, with no window, and absolutely no sound proofing - it was as if anyone who left the lift stepped straight into the room. I asked to change rooms and this was facilitated, although the person at the front desk said ‘all our basic rooms are like this’ as if it was my fault for picking a normal room and expecting it would conform to basic hotel room standards. The second room was quieter and even had a small window looking into a sort of air shaft. However, after the first day, the housekeeping staff seemed to forget about my existence and my room was not made up nor new towels provided. I also tried to order a drink at reception to have on the terrace, but a while later another staff member came to tell me the drink was not available, asked me to choose something else, only to conclude that only coffee and tea were available on the day, for some reason. Upon checkout the manager asked explicitly for feedback and explained that the soundproofing issues were being discussed with the building owner. This at least left me with the impression that someone cares. It’s an absolutely beautiful building, but unfortunately it isn’t being used to the maximum. The ‘library’ is a stuffy little room with uncomfortable seating. There is a piano salon with live music, but it seems to be in a sort of outfit rental shop and it’s not clear if you can sit there and have a drink. There’s a lovely terrace, but as mentioned it turned out to be impossible to order a drink there either. I just wish the whole place was more comfortable rather than feeling like you’re staying in a museum.
